Kayla completed her articles at a boutique law firm in Pretoria, where she gained extensive experience in Planning, Development, Environmental and Municipal Law in South Africa from 2023 to 2025. During this time, she was actively involved in supporting both public and private sector matters and successfully passed all of the board examinations as well as the notarial examination.

Kayla has since been admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.

On 1 February 2025, Kayla joined the SHE Department at Tabacks as a Junior Associate. In this role, she is involved in partner-led work across a broad range of Environmental Health and Safety matters and continues to develop her expertise in regulatory compliance, environmental governance, and risk management.
