Tabacks has a large number of corporate listed clients, who have been involved in various transactions such as joint ventures, mergers, management buy-outs, black empowerment deals, capital raising and financing transactions and restructuring. Samantha has assisted various of these clients in one or more of the aforementioned transactions, several of which involved cross-border negotiations in the Europe, Turkey, Romania, Russia, Hong Kong and Kenya.


The most prevalent transactions in which Samantha has been involved are:

  • Maragon Private Schools Ruimsig (Pty) Ltd in respect of the acquisition by RMB Corvest of a 49.9% interest in Maragon Private Schools Ruimsig (Pty) Ltd; and the acquisition by Maragon Private Schools Ruimsig (Pty) Ltd of the Doxa Deo and Charterhouse schools;

  • the disposal by Delta EMD Limited of its business and assets in South Africa;

  • Metair Investments Limited in respect of its acquisition of an interest in Rombat SA and Mutlu batteries;

  • the acquisition by a Hong Kong listed entity Frontier Services Group of a logistics business in the RSA;

  • the acquisition by the Curimbaba Group of a silicon carbide business in the RSA;

  • the acquisition by IMR of a majority interest in a mining company in South Africa; and

  • the acquisition by Jabil (Mauritius) of a renewable energy business in Namibia.
